  • Males and females 19-50 years: 2300 mg/day
  • Males and females 51-70 years: 2000 mg/day
  • Males and females >70 years: 1800 mg/day
What's Chloride for?
  • Regulates water and electrolyte balance
  • Part of the acidic gastric juice in the stomach
  • Allows liver to detoxify waste by-products
Best Food sources
  • Found mainly in processed foods, but also in table salt, seaweeds, olives, tomatoes and celery.
